Randle Chowning & Larry Michael Lee - EPK
Randle Chowning and Larry Michael Lee began their partnership together by being on the ground floor of the formation of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils in 1971. Chowning sang the band’s first chart success “If You Wanna Get To Heaven (you gotta raise a little hell)” in 1973. One year later Lee wrote and sang “Jackie Blue”, the group’s classic radio smash hit.
By the early 1980’s both singer/songwriters had parted company with the Daredevils and released solo projects on major labels. Lee relocated to Nashville, TN where he flourished as a writer and producer and also toured with Jimmy Buffett. He produced numerous Gold and Platinum CD’s for artist such as Alabama and Restless Heart among others.
A decade later Chowning also moved to Nashville where he continued his songwriting and ultimately once again teamed up with Lee in 2005 to released Beyond Reach, a collection of Americana style pop originals backed by some of Nashville’s most versatile studio musicians. They now both live back in their home state of Missouri and continue to record under the Beyond Reach moniker.
2017 will find Chowning and Lee being joined by multi-instrumentalist David Wilson as they continue playing a series of "acoustic" concerts throughout the mid-west.

“These guys have just become my new heroes. I think music today needs to take a turn for the better and this would be a nice place to land.”
Michael Wissman - St. Louis Music Press
"Larry Lee and Randle Chowning ( two original founding members of The Ozark Mountain Daredevils) brought their new group, Beyond Reach, to the Focal Point. The group consists of Larry Lee on vocals, guitar and percussion, Randle Chowning on vocals, guitar, mandolin and harmonica, David Wilson on vocals, guitar, mandolin and fiddle. Their new music is an exquisite blend of country, rock, pop, and bluegrass, all rolled into one, with an occasional Daredevils song thrown in for good measure.
